Uh oh. It’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor release day, and despite all the hype and positive reviews from critics, it seems that many fans who’ve gotten stuck into the game today aren’t happy.

When the review embargo lifted earlier this week, critics were full of praise for the sequel’s various improvements. Here at GAMINGbible, our very own Will McCue gave the game a nine out of 10 in his review, and wrote: “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an exceptional sequel, improving on every gripe fans had with Fallen Order while adding countless new features in that’ll keep players engrossed for a long, long time. It’ll take something really special to come out to stop Survivor being the best action/adventure game of 2023.”

Thanks to an overwhelming amount of high ratings, Jedi: Survivor is already one of the highest rated PS5 games of the year, but it seems that players on PC are having some serious issues. At the time of writing, the game has a ‘Mostly Negative’ rating on Steam, and players haven’t held back on describing the performance problems that they’ve been facing.

“Another AAA game marred by a horribly optimised release. The worst part is, this game seems pretty good so far. The Coruscant level has been beautiful, and I'm very excited to play through this and unlock all the various lightsaber styles. Please, for the love of God, OPTIMISE YOUR GAMES BEFORE YOU RELEASE THEM!” Steam user shreeb wrote. “So far, the loading screen is pretty okay. I have no idea what it's like past the title screen because it doesn't load past that at the moment,” White_Wolf_9946 said.

Meanwhile, reviewer Spartan gave a very concise summary of the situation: “Runs like my ass after Taco Bell.”

Oh dear. If you’re wanting to dive into Jedi: Survivor today, it sounds like you might want to stick to the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S versions if possible.
