Skyrim players amazed to learn of secret underground entrance that'll change your next playthrough

It's time to head back to Riften

I don’t know about you but after sinking so many hours into Skyrim over the years, I thought I had discovered every corner of the vast map.

However, that is most definitely not the case according to another recent find by one eagle-eyed player.

Despite being out in the world for 13 years, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is as popular today as it was back in 2011. The expansive open-world RPG by Bethesda has become something of a cult classic thanks to its epic gameplay, hilarious glitches and that famous soundtrack.

Not only that but its plethora of hidden features, Easter eggs and secrets have been enough to keep us all entertained for well over 10 years and yet another one has been discovered in recent weeks.

Situated in Riften, home to everybody’s favourite Thieves Guild and sprawling underground tunnel system, players can actually make their very own home in the Ratway with their fellow thieves. This much you probably know, but what you might not know is there that there's a much, much quicker way to access your secret hideout.

As pointed out on the Skyrim subreddit, a hidden entrance to your underground home can be accessed by jumping over the dock railings, accessing a secret entrance that brings you right where you need to be: your very own forge.

"WHAT?!?" exclaimed one user. "There's a secret entrance?" We're right there with you, buddy.

As one of just many mysterious hidden features in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, this underground area has gone unnoticed by many players over the years. However, with the area only offering an axe and some potions, there isn’t much to miss out on.

In related news, over the past few years, players have discovered that they have been mining incorrectly all this time, that you have the ability to bind certain keys and that a ferocious ghostly boss lurks in the remnants of Castle Karstaag Ruins.
