We can all pretend we’re not going to play Skyrim again, but the truth is that we’ll soon be back – assuming you ever left.

Whenever you decide to traverse this large Bethesda-made map once again, you’ll want to make a note of this route.

This “secret” path, if you will, is regarded as “the best” path to take on your journey to Ivarstead.

What would you get up to if you had 24 hours to kill in Skyrim?

While it’s not exactly concealed, A-Secret-Guy who shared it on r/skyrim believes “very few” players are aware of this option.

“This path that starts near the Ritual Stone goes over the side of the throat of the world towards Ivarstead,” the OP explained. “It is the shortest route between Whiterun and Ivarstead.”

They’ve also provided a Skyrim map with the area circled to help those among us who are visual learners.

User iNSANELYSMART replied, “Ayo what, I had no idea there was a way at that place.”

If you’re surprised by its existence, don’t be too hard on yourself; as other fans are quick to point out, it’s not a route easily discovered.

“It's not really a road, just like a snowy path up into the mountains. It's really pretty,” commented louisianapelican.

When you’re next in the area, if you spy a stone cairn this might be more than a “dungeon driveaway”, as one user put it. Instead, it could mark the beginning of a less travelled but viable route.

“I never knew there was any other way,” C4ballin said.

Prepare to have your mind blown again because Skyrim players are just learning that there’s a nifty mining trick most of us will wish we’d known about sooner as well.

All these discoveries help Skyrim to remain one of the best RPGs made, and is why we can’t help but refer to it as the gift that keeps on giving.
