Skyrim players haunted by secret underground area, and we get it

Appearances can be deceiving

Appearances can be deceiving and that is definitely the case for one terrifying location within Skyrim which players reveal still haunts them to this day.

As with any open-world RPG, exploring off the beaten track is part of the fun as you never know what you will stumble across.

Check out the official trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below!

That is definitely the case for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as, despite the game being over a decade old, players are still flocking to the Bethesda RPG and sharing their discoveries and thoughts across social media.

Thanks to places such as r/ElderScrolls, fans of the hit RPG can share their love of the game with like-minded people and that was the case for user GuitierrezTonda who recently reminded players of one of Skyrim’s most iconic locations.

Anise’s Cabin.

Located in a small dwelling in Falkreath Hold, Anise’s Cabin is home to an elderly Nord lady who can initially be found gardening or sitting in a chair outside her house.

She tells the Dragonborn that she is “just a poor old woman” and there is “no need to trouble yourself” with her. However, her home says differently.

“It was just a normal cabin, nothing special,” the Reddit post reads alongside a meme of the infamous cabin.

If the Dragonborn chooses to enter Anise’s basement, they will discover Anise’s Letter to Helgi which reveals that the old woman is in fact a witch and upon exiting the cellar, she will attack and remain hostile until she is killed.

It is a twist of events to say the least and players joked about their own discoveries.

“”“Ah what a nice lady, I wonder what kind of things are in her cellar!”” one user joked.

Another said: “I wish she confronted you, instead of jumping straight to hostility.

Technically, you fully trespassed, so she has every right to attack an intruder. But I wish you could let her know that it’s ok, and you have no problem with her secret life.”

Anise’s Cabin is just another reminder that exploring off the beaten track across Skyrim is just part of the fun.
