The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still Bethesda’s greatest achievement, and even The Elder Scrolls VI will struggle to beat it.
The Elder Scrolls VI is currently in development and while we haven’t seen any official gameplay (not even an in-game screenshot) the fans have high expectations for the RPG.
Hopefully that faith in Bethesda isn’t misplaced, but even if it is, it's clear Skyrim will always be there long after The Elder Scrolls VI launches.
Players are still booting up fresh playthroughs of the game with the latest mods, many of which can be combined to create a completely new experience.

A good example is a video by Digital Dreams which showcases gameplay of Skyrim running on absurdly high settings, with visual quality you’d expect to find in the latest releases, not a game released in 2013.
Apparently the gameplay is using over 3580 mods and you can really tell, with the whole thing being carried by an RTX5090.
The results speak for themselves and it’s arguably the kind of quality we’re expecting from The Elder Scrolls VI.
At the time of writing it’s believed the next Elder Scrolls game is being developed solely for new-gen consoles, so the Xbox Series X, the PlayStation 5 and of course PCs as standard.

That said with rumour of the next Xbox and the PlayStation 6 launching in just a couple of years it wouldn’t be surprising to learn Bethesda is planning a new, new-gen release for those high-end systems. We’ve all seen the memes about how many versions of Skyrim exist, I don’t see why the next Elder Scrolls game will be any different especially given how long we’ve been waiting for it.
If you’re interested in achieving the same level of visual quality as the Digital Dreams video above, there are plenty of guides and mod lists out there to help you do so, provided your hardware can handle it.
