Skate, or Skate 4 as many people are calling it, is finally out in the world with the free-to-play skateboarding game aiming to reboot the original Skate series.
Developed by Full Circle and published by Electronic Arts, Skate is the latest skateboarding game on the market and fans of the original series will be pleased to see the return of a sports game classic.
Or will they?
Skate 2025 has just been released into early access and so millions of players are flocking to the brand-new game hoping to see improvements on the original series whilst giving us the flair of a modern-day title.

Released towards the end of the 2000s, the original series was a hit and revolutionised the way gamers experienced virtual skateboarding but after entries stopped being released after its third instalment, this is the first time we have seen a Skate title since 2010.
Now we are back with Skate (or Skate 4 to some) with the free-to-play game taking players to the city of San Vansterdam in a sandbox-style multiplayer experience.
All good, right?
Well unfortunately not as it seems as though many players diving into Skate’s early access are running into a series of bugs which may look hilarious but are no doubt frustrating.

Since its early access launch on 16 September, multiple videos have been posted to social media showing just some of the bugs and glitches that players are running into.
For example, Twitter user berd shared a 20-second clip of their skateboarder, well, not skateboarding and rather diving through the air with an invisible wingsuit before landing briefly and then taking off again.
This post was in response to another video shared by user igor.
This time, their skateboarder can be seen doing constant forward rolls down the street without a skateboard in sight.

“Bro, what am I even playing right now? Why is this faster than skating?” They asked.
It seems as though diving through the air and performing forward rolls is a lot more effective in Skate which is definitely an issue considering the game is about skateboarding and I don’t even think this can be blamed on early access teething problems.
“How did you already break the game?” One user asked in response to which igor replied, “because it’s a**”.
As a result of the many bugs, Skate is already sitting at a ‘mixed’ response on Steam with over 4,000 reviews.

Hopefully Full Circle will work on these issues throughout the course of Skate’s early access period but for now, it seems as though the skateboards are pretty obsolete in the latest skateboarding game on the market.
