The Witcher 4 Release Window May Have Been Quietly Confirmed

This date would make the most sense

Yesterday saw CD Projekt RED share its Q3 2025 financial report and alongside a lot of technical jargon, fans of The Witcher 4 may have just received a release window for the highly anticipated sequel.

Shared on the official CD PROJEKT IR Youtube channel, CD Projekt RED’s CFO Piotr Nielubowicz took the time to shed some light on the future of the studio’s various projects with the new main ones being The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2, codenamed ‘Project Orion’.

Although neither title has received an official release window, reading between the lines is key and with Nielubowicz revealing that the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will not launch until 2028 at the earliest, that gives us some all-important news on The Witcher 4.

We already know that the next instalment in The Witcher franchise will launch before Cyberpunk 2 and so that gives us 2026 or 2027 for The Witcher 4.

However, according to CD Projekt Red CEO Michał Nowakowski, The Witcher 4 will not receive a new trailer at this year’s The Game Awards despite it showing off its first cinematic trailer at the same event this time last year.

“I’m very happy to see The Witcher 4 nominated in the Most Anticipated Game category at The Game Awards,” said Nowakowski in a tweet.

“Thanks to everyone who has already voted – your support means a lot of to us. We won’t be bringing any new content to TGA this year, but we’re, as always, excited to watch the show and celebrate this amazing industry’s great night alongside all of you.”

So That Means the Release Window Should Be...

So what does this mean for The Witcher 4’s release date?

A Game Awards no-show suggests the game likely ins't coming in 2026.

Judging from the information we have, that it will be released before Cyberpunk 2077 but will not receive a new trailer this year, we can expect The Witcher 4 to launch some time in 2027.

Of course, this has not been confirmed by CD Projekt RED and so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.

However, it would make sense based on the information we have so far.

There could be delays or problems with development (although fingers crossed there is not) and so it is really anybody’s guess when the actual release date for The Witcher 4 will be.

Nevertheless, it is clear that CDPR is hard at work on development for both the Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher sequels and so patience is a virtue when it comes to the highly anticipated titles.
