Stardew Valley really is one of those games that seems like it can do no wrong, with fans praising every consecutive update and iteration, with very little in the way of complaints along the way.
This is a remarkable achievement given that the game was originally being worked on by just one person, with a small team joining later to deal with the immense popularity and demand for updates.
That said. things have begun to taper off in recent months, as the game’s original solo developer ConcernedApe (real name Eric Barone) moved on to his next project in the Haunted Chocolatier.
Somehow, the team behind the game still managed to pull through with an entirely new release for the Nintendo Switch 2, while at the same time promising that a 1.7 version of the game would release at some point in the future.

The Switch 2 version is now here, and though it has all the hallmarks of the same brilliant game that we've come to know and love, there have been a few issues that need addressing, something which is seemingly about to happen.

ConcernedApe Confirms Stardew Valley Switch 2 Patch is Imminent
Over on Twitter/X, developer ConcernedApe confirmed that an important patch is on the way for the Switch 2 version of Stardew Valley which should address some very annoying bugs that players have been reporting since its release.
“A patch to fix the crafting bug, and add improvements to the mouse controls on the NS2 edition of Stardew Valley is coming soon. I'll wait to release the NS2 edition in the EU until this patch is ready, since the crafting bug can cause you to lose items,” the post reads.
He then went on to detail exactly what’s causing these issues, saying, “if you are playing on NS2 version right now, be aware that crafting any of the below recipes may cause unexpected items in your inventory to be consumed. If you do need to craft these, empty your inventory of everything except the required ingredients, and don't use the workbench.”
The full list of affected recipes is as follows:
- Blue Grass Starter
- Heavy Furnace
- Deluxe Worm Bin
- Fish Smoker
- Mushroom Log
- Speed-Gro
- Treasure Totem
- Statue of Blessings
- Deluxe Bait
- Challenge Bait
- Moss Soup
Outside of those, the crafting and cooking in the game should function as expected right now. Barone didn’t go as far as confirming a date for the patch, but it should arrive fairly soon, giving that it’s holding up some major plans.
