Stardew Valley returns in a new release that has brand-new features that fans will surely adore.
When it comes to being an indie darling, it doesn't get much more beloved than Stardew Valley, which was originally released in 2016.
Initially developed by just one person, Eric Barone (ConcernedApe), Stardew Valley has been supported with a wealth of free content over the years, and that’s not even taking into account the wonderful support from its modding community.
“You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home?”

Today, Stardew Valley has grown into quite the goliath, launching on multiple platforms, having board game adaptations, and countless cute pieces of merchandise.
Now, in the latest version of the ever-popular Stardew Valley, it’s getting brand-new features on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Not only will Stardew Valley get mouse control support, one of the Switch 2’s newest features, but it’s also getting four-player split-screen co-op and will have a game share feature for up to four separate consoles. The game share will work on four consoles, even if only one person owns the game, but you will need to be on the same internet connection.
While the mouse feature will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, all the other new features will be available on the original console, which is a nice bonus.

With this being an enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 version, it’s probably safe to assume that Stardew Valley will receive a nice little resolution and framerate boost, as we’ve seen with other “Enhanced” games.
“This game’s success and longevity needs to be studied,” said vicenteragalch, in the comments section on YouTube.
“Four-player local co-op is amazing,” exclaimed captnbassbeard.
“Even if it's not a free update, I will buy it. This developer has earned my money way more times over,” declared Genericwizardguy. By the way, it is a free update.

“Highlight of the Nintendo Direct. Best in show,” commented Adamatronamus.
“OMG FINALLY!” yelled marinathusiast.
No release date was announced for the Stardew Valley Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, but we do know that it will launch sometime late this year. Hopefully, the split-screen feature will come to other platforms.
Stardew Valley is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and mobile devices.
