Epic Games Store has just updated its free weekly offerings, which means PC gamers can now grab two new games at no cost at all.
As is always the case, once you’ve grabbed these games, they’re yours to keep - and it’s yet another strong line-up.
I want to begin by diving into Nobody Wants To Die, which is precisely the game I’m talking about when we say an alternative to Cyberpunk 2077.
Developed by Critical Hit Games and published by PLAION, this is a cyberpunk detective thriller set in New York in the year 2329.
Two Stellar Detective Games Up For Grabs on PC, Save $40 Total
“Lose yourself in the world of New York, 2329, where immortality comes at a price that someone has to pay,” the synopsis reads.

“Following a near-death experience, Detective James Karra takes an off-the-books case from his chief with only the help of a young police liaison, Sara Kai, to assist him.
“Time reveals all as they risk everything in pursuit of a killer, uncovering the dark secrets of the city's elite.”

Somewhat similarly to Detroit: Become Human, players will survey scenes for clues as they also make some important narrative choices.

It’s a gorgeous game visually and I’m not at all surprised to see ‘Very Positive’ reviews on Steam.
“This game is a graphical masterpiece,” wrote one player.
“The graphics were the very first thing that pulled me into this game... and honestly, they don’t disappoint for a second. [...] What really makes the experience shine is how your choices actually matter. The decisions you make shape the story and can lead to different endings, which makes every playthrough feel meaningful,” wrote another.
The game normally costs £19.99 or $24.99, so nabbing it for free makes for a great saving.
Next up, the second game is The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark so, yes, there’s seemingly a bit of a theme this month.
This game usually costs £12.79 or $14.99 and is developed by Spooky Doorway with Akupara Games handling publishing duties.
It’s a pixel art detective game where players will travel to Twin Lakes, America’s 34th most haunted city.
“Join Detective McQueen as he puzzles his way through nine chilling cases, risking life and pixelated limb to solve the macabre mysteries that plague the poor town,” the description reads.
I’ve not played this one, but with ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews, it sounds like I should have.
“A fun pixel art puzzle game with adorable graphics and witty, entertaining dialogue,” wrote one player.
All in all, not a bad weekly haul. Grab both games via Epic games Store before the line-up refreshes on 19 February.
