The Animal Crossing series is in my opinion the undisputed king of cosy games, but Stardew Valley is a very close second.
I’ve logged hundreds of hours into Animal Crossing: New Horizons and I’ve been logging many more since the Nintendo Switch 2 update brought me back to my island.
Stardew Valley on the other hand is one I’ll pick up every year, get so many days in, then call it a day. I’ve had too many farms to count unfortunately but I’m sure the game will get me eventually.
That said, ConcernedApe's next game, Haunted Chocolatier, looks pretty good so I’ll likely be checking that one out when it’s ready.

However, one I haven’t tried is Disney Dreamlight Valley, which is like Stardew Valley but full of Disney magic and guest stars.
Combining worlds and characters from iconic Disney films like Beauty And The Beast, Lilo & Stitch and Michael Theodore Mouse himself there’s something in this title for every Disney fan, and it’s free.
There are of course in-game purchases for things like expansions but for the most part you can sink hours into the game without spending a penny, and that doesn’t stop with the new-gen update.

An update is being rolled out to bring the game up to the standards of the latest console hardware. An Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 version already exist so this time it’s the Nintendo Switch 2 users who are getting this freebie.

It’s a bit hit-and-miss if you ask me as apparently the game’s framerate will not be boosted up to 60fps.
The benchmark is still 30fps but given the Nintendo Switch 2’s specs it means there shouldn’t be any problems maintaining that framerate.
The resolution on the other hand does get a nice boost which should be visible on both your TV and the console itself when you play the game in handheld mode.
It’s a free update for a free game, so you really can’t ask for more than that.
At the time of writing I’m still firmly stuck into my old Animal Crossing: New Horizons island but I might take a break to give this one a go.
I love Lilo & Stitch and I can also see that Wall-E is in the game, so those two alone are enough to get me curious.
