It is exciting news for Dead Space fans as its co-creator has revealed that Dead Space 4 may be just around the corner.
Serving as the executive producer at EA Redwood Shores back in 2008 for the launch of Dead Space, co-creator Glen Schofield recently spoke at Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show in Bangkok about the future of the beloved sci-fi horror franchise.
Schofield may not have worked on either 2011’s Dead Space 2 or 2013’s Dead Space 3, but he did have a hand in 2022’s The Callisto Protocol, Dead Space’s spiritual successor.
However, following the news that Electronic Arts was not on board with the idea of Dead Space 4, the recent news that EA had received new owners may just bode well for the franchise.

Speaking to IGN, Schofield spoke about his goals for the revival of the Dead Space series.
“I went to [EA] recently and they're like no, we're not interested anymore,” he revealed.
“I said, I can get back the leadership team. I need the models from EA Motive [who built the Dead Space remake in 2023] and I can save you 30 to 40 million dollars on the idea that I have. And, they're like, 'no.'"
At the time of writing, Schofield is working as the director at Pinstripe Games, a studio that is yet to announce the next game it is working on.

However, it seems as though the Dead Space co-creator would immediately jump at the opportunity to work on Dead Space 4 if asked.
“I have quite a few ideas that I'm ready to go with and one of them is Dead Space 4,” he continued.
“The fact that EA just got bought, I think there’s an opportunity. I’m already making calls.”
Last month saw Electronic Arts officially purchased in a $55 billion deal and so the future is currently looking uncertain for some of our favourite franchises.

However, Schofield believes that this deal could have a positive effect on the Dead Space series.
“I don’t know where EA’s head is right now, I don’t think they made money on [the Dead Space remake]. Dead Space needs to be adapted to different mediums — movies, TV series, it would be great.
“But I am more optimistic [since the sale of EA], because somebody new could buy [the Dead Space IP].”
This may not be confirmation that Dead Space 4 will definitely come to fruition in the near future but it is still exciting to know that one of its original co-creators would be on board as soon as he gets that call.
