Even Red Dead Redemption 3's most optimistic release date hilariously far away

Smile through the pain

There is no question that the majority of Red Dead fans would love a third entry but with Rockstar busy with other projects, even the most optimistic release date for Red Dead Redemption 3 is hilariously far away.

With Red Dead Redemption first being released back in 2010 and Red Dead Redemption 2 following suit in 2018, if Rockstar follows on with this trend, we could expect a potential third entry in 2026.

Check out the trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 below!

Considering that is just two years away, it is pretty soon but with Rockstar hard at work on Grand Theft Auto 6 and not even confirming a potential Red Dead Redemption 3, anybody hoping for a 2026 release should be prepared to have their hearts broken.

It doesn’t help that fan-made posters are making their way around the internet, including one that claimed the third entry would be arriving in 2032.

The fan-made art shows a man sitting upon a horse in a snowy valley with the typography reading “III - Coming 2032” and of course, it wasn’t long before some fans believed it to be an official announcement.

The poster which first appeared on the Facebook page (there’s your first mistake) for JamesHeisenberg described the game as the “next big project” for Rockstar Games after the 2025 release of Grand Theft Auto 6.

However, with GTA 6 being the only game in development for Rockstar at the time of writing (at least out of those that have been announced), it is clear that this fan-made poster and its creator do not have all the facts.

Regardless, it begs the question as to when we will see a possible Red Dead Redemption 3. With Arthur Morgan’s actor himself claiming that his character’s story was done, that doesn’t mean that the series doesn’t have more stories to tell.
