Red Dead Redemption 3 still remains a twinkle in the sky, and fans are still holding out hope that one day they’ll see a new continuation of the series.
We’re now seven years on from the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, and while Rockstar Games is busy getting GTA 6 out of the door, fans are still holding out hope of one day seeing a new sequel.
Considering the popularity and success of RDR2, it’s possible we could see one at some point in the future.
But with GTA 6 so late in development now, it probably won’t be for a while.

One fan on the Red Dead Redemption Reddit page wondered the same, posing a question to the community on whether a third game was feasible for Rockstar.
“RDR1 and 2 are both amazing games and it would be so good to see another game in the same setting,” they wrote in the post.

“We're never getting RDR3. And if we do it's like 20 years away,” wrote one user in the replies. “They're gonna be focused on GTA 6 Online and the cash cow it'll be from micro transactions for years.”
“GTA 6 is going to be a huge undertaking. I can't blame them for focusing all their resources on it,” another user wrote. “After that, I could see them going back to Red Dead. Why not?”
“Honestly I hope Rockstar tries something new after GTA VI,” a third user wrote. “To me the Red Dead/Van der Linde story is finished, and I’m tired of the Red Dead/GTA back-and-forth they’ve been doing honestly.
“There was a rumour a while ago about a medieval Rockstar game that turned out to be unfounded, but that would honestly be so sick for them to do next.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 released around five years after GTA 5, so if the trend remains the same, we might know more about Rockstar’s plans for the Red Dead series once we’re well into the 2030s.
