Are you ready to feel old? Red Dead Redemption 2 turns five years old this year. That’s right, it’s been half a decade since 2018. I can feel my bones crumbling to dust.
Despite the passage of time, Red Dead Redemption 2 genuinely hasn’t aged a day. Its phenomenal photo-realistic graphics are still just as impressive as they were on release, and the game hasn’t even been given a new-gen update (in fact, it’s seeming less and less likely that we’re ever going to get one). Gamers on Reddit are in agreement that visually, very few games have managed to top it.

“Yeah honestly I get kinda cringed out when people say ‘wow this (some other game) looks amazing, way better than anything else!’ But Red Dead just looks insanely good for no reason. I can't fathom how my old ass PS4 runs the damn game,” sinanisiklar replied. “EVERY moment cutscene or not is photo mode worthy, and that is really only this game for me and maybe current gen/PC Cyberpunk. Red Dead Redemption 2 is just in such a different class, […] in terms of graphics and happenings in the world around you. Rockstar Games still hasn't confirmed whether or not it's already working on Red Dead Redemption 3, but let's face it, it's bound to happen eventually, right? It was eight years between the releases of Red Dead Redemption and its sequel, though, so we could be waiting several more years yet.
