Red Dead Redemption 2 fans agree game still looks better than '99% of games', 5 years on

Gamers are in agreement that despite it being a previous-gen release, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best looking games out there.

Are you ready to feel old? Red Dead Redemption 2 turns five years old this year. That’s right, it’s been half a decade since 2018. I can feel my bones crumbling to dust.

Despite the passage of time, Red Dead Redemption 2 genuinely hasn’t aged a day. Its phenomenal photo-realistic graphics are still just as impressive as they were on release, and the game hasn’t even been given a new-gen update (in fact, it’s seeming less and less likely that we’re ever going to get one). Gamers on Reddit are in agreement that visually, very few games have managed to top it.

Take a look at some of the funniest wins and fails from Red Dead Redemption 2 below.

“RDR2 is going to be five years old in October and it still looks better than 99% of anything released since 2018. Truly amazing,” Gunslinger3317 wrote, along with a gorgeous screenshot of Arthur Morgan on a horse.

“Yeah honestly I get kinda cringed out when people say ‘wow this (some other game) looks amazing, way better than anything else!’ But Red Dead just looks insanely good for no reason. I can't fathom how my old ass PS4 runs the damn game,” sinanisiklar replied. “EVERY moment cutscene or not is photo mode worthy, and that is really only this game for me and maybe current gen/PC Cyberpunk. Red Dead Redemption 2 is just in such a different class, […] in terms of graphics and happenings in the world around you. From eagles swooping down for fish, wolves hunting deer or challenging a bear[,] to men tending to their horse or a man simply on a walk with his dog,” added drevyheavy.

Rockstar Games still hasn't confirmed whether or not it's already working on Red Dead Redemption 3, but let's face it, it's bound to happen eventually, right? It was eight years between the releases of Red Dead Redemption and its sequel, though, so we could be waiting several more years yet.
