Red Dead Redemption 2 Braithwaite Manor assault hailed as one of gaming's best moments

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the perfect example of a modern day classic game. We’ve seen some fantastic games released over the years, but little have had the same level of continual impact as this - despite being a previous-gen title, it’s still absolutely gorgeous, and is packed with so many secrets that players still seem to be uncovering them.

Even without a new-gen update (which apparently might have been scrapped altogether), Red Dead Redemption 2 recently reached an all-time concurrent player peak, showing that there are still plenty of dedicated fans out there - as well as new ones. Over on Reddit, one new player has been praising one of the title's most iconic scenes, which they think might be the “coolest” thing they’ve ever experienced in a game.

Before we get into it, take a look at some of our favourite wins and fails from Red Dead Redemption 2 below.

Even if it wasn’t already in the headline, I have little doubt that the Van der Linde gang’s assault on Braithwaite Manor would have sprung straight to mind for most fans. “I have been playing games for 10 years in my short lil life and this is probably the coolest thing I have seen in a game,” ModXMaG wrote, attaching a screenshot of the iconic moment.

Others are in total agreement: “That was the greatest mission I have ever played in a game. I truly felt for Jack and John. I felt pits in my stomach for what might happen, and it played to my typical male fantasy of pulling a Taken moment,” replied duper42. “Dude, this scene. There’s so much more and it’s all great but this one stuck with me,” wrote armex88. “This is definitely the hell-yeah moment of that game. First time I got here, it was just a blur of righteous fury and insane anticipation,” added NomenNescio13.

Just imagine being able to experience that mission for the first time all over again. Sigh.
