Red Dead Redemption 2 now has a new visual overhaul, if you want to try and make the game prettier.
Even eight years on, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still one of the most gorgeous games of all time.
It’s wild to think that Rockstar Games was able to squeeze as much juice out of the PS4 and Xbox One as it could to make the game look like that on console.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but if that’s not enough and you want to make it even prettier, a new visual overhaul for PC will allow you to do just that.
HDR - High Definition Redemption is a new mod available on Nexus Mods which gives the game a dramatic graphical overhaul to improve some of the visual details.
“HDR: High Definition Redemption is a handcrafted ReShade preset designed to elevate Red Dead Redemption 2 with sharper detail, bolder contrast, and cinematic clarity, all without breaking the original tone or tanking performance,” the mod description reads.
“From golden plains to stormy ridgelines, this preset brings every moment into crisp, high definition focus.

“Whether you’re navigating the windswept peaks of Ambarino or riding through the amber glow of a Saint Denis sunset, HDR unlocks the visual potential of RDR2 with modern, film inspired enhancements.”
Some of the advertised features include new HDR, light gaussian blur, and additional texture clarity to make the game look even better than it did in 2018.
If you’re playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on consoles, I'm afraid you’re out of luck. This mod is only available for PC at the moment.
However, there are rumblings that Rockstar could be preparing to release a remaster for current-gen consoles as soon as later this year.

While you should take that rumour with a pinch of salt, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been one of Rockstar’s most popular games.
It’s still stuck in 30FPS jail on console though, and fans would love to see a remaster smoothen that out for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
