There may be no sign of Red Dead Redemption 3 but according to a recent rumour, Red Dead Redemption 2 may receive yet another resurgence courtesy of a brand-new release.

It may have been just seven years since Rockstar Games released Red Dead Redemption 2 but with the game widely regarded as one of the best of all times, it is no surprise that fans are eager for more.

However, with Rockstar being hard at work on development for Grand Theft Auto VI, its Red Dead franchise has taken a bit of a backseat.

That being said, according to a recent rumour, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to receive a brand-new release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

This rumour comes courtesy of NateTheHate who claims that RDR2 is likely to be announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 fairly soon, which would definitely make sense considering the new handheld releases today.

If true, its Nintendo Switch 2 port will be announced during the Nintendo Direct presentation with news for its PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions revealed shortly after.

According to NateTheHate, RDR2 will release on these new platforms around late summer or early fall which could mean anything from September to October of this year.

As of right now, Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC so it is about time that the hit title made its way to current-gen consoles.

Not only that but with millions of customers receiving their Nintendo Switch 2 consoles today, being able to boot up RDR2 will be the perfect way to celebrate the new purchase.

Hopefully this will be the perfect way to make the wait for Red Dead Redemption 3 a bit easier and hey, you can never replay it too much, right?
