Red Dead Redemption 2 players lose it over 'alternate ending'

Finally, some redemption

Red Dead Redemption 2 players have discovered you can sort-of unlock an alternate ending to the game if you’re quick enough, but it’s not official of course.

While there’s only one true ending in the eyes of the players, Red Dead Redemption 2 gives you the choice at the end over what kind of man you want Arthur Morgan to be.

And what a man he is, as we’re still talking about him in the year of our Lord 2025

It’s all about honour, as the high honour choice is to escort a younger John Marston to safety whereas low honour players could attempt to claim the money acquired throughout the story.

There is, in a way, a third option though as a YouTuber by the name of Nestan found out you can kill Micah during one of the missions.

You have to be pretty quick on your feet to do this as it involves finding yourself in his path as he’s trying to escape, but sure enough you can gun him down as you rightfully should.

While I’d love to say this creates some sort of alternate future where the dead red finally gets their redemption I’m afraid Rockstar Games deemed it not to be, as killing Micah will fail the mission.

Nevertheless it’s insanely satisfying to pull-off, especially with such a hated characters like Micah.

Red Dead Redemption fans in the comments got a kick out of it at least, mainly how funny it is that the game fails you for killing him.

One commenter said: “Mission Failed: You won” whereas another said “I’m convinced Dutch decides if a mission is failed.”

My favourite comment of the bunch referenced Metal Gear Solid, saying "Arthur what have you done? You changed the future, you've created a time paradox!"

We might not have been able to change the future of Red Dead Redemption, but hitting Micah with a Dead-Eye seems like enough of a reward.
