PC users have a new freebie to play, and it’s one of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fans out there.
Breath of the Wild arguably changed the way developers approach open-world games when it launched on Nintendo Switch and Wii U back in 2017 and the effect of that change is still felt today.
So many new titles are accused of trying to capitalise on Nintendo's success when in reality gamers just want vast, open-worlds that are fun to explore, and that’s what Capcom’s seemingly bringing us later this year.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is as you've probably guessed the third game in the Monster Hunter spin-off series.

Rather than slaying monsters you’ll instead tame them like Pokemon.

It all starts with two nations and a mysterious egg. From the egg hatches two monsters that look eerily similar to two dragons of old, which almost brought about the destruction of the lands.
Players will embark on an epic adventure where they’ll master the abilities and powers of various monsters to overcome obstacles, battle threats and hopefully save a world at the brink of destruction.

Yesterday during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Capcom announced that you’ll be able to try the game for free ahead of its 13 March release date.
Like many video game demos nowadays, whatever progress you make will carry over to the full game, great for if you end up liking it and don’t want to restart. Some of those Monster Hunter tutorial sequences can really drag so I wouldn’t fancy having to replay those either.
The demo is available for PC players via Steam but obviously Nintendo Switch 2 owners get access as well. Xbox and PlayStation consoles have their own version of the demo too so everyone gets a chance to play.
If you like the mainline Monster Hunter games you’ll probably like these spin-offs though they have a very different vibe.
Monster Hunter Wilds was a great success for Capcom so it’s nice to see the series is still alive in the big 2026.
Hopefully Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will be a nice filler title before the next major game gets announced.
For now enjoy that demo, hopefully it’ll get you excited for that 14 March release date.
