Massive Pokémon Wind And Waves Map Leak Reveals Stunning Zelda Inspiration

But will it be good?

Pokémon Wind & Waves leaks aren’t going away anytime soon and by this point the entire games will be spoiled before they’ve even been announced.

The open-world especially has been a hot topic of conversation, as it frankly sounds too good to be true.

Pokémon Wind & Waves is the rumoured names of the Generation 10 games. With the enhanced power of the Nintendo Switch 2 game, it's likely Game Freak is going to be taking full advantage. Could Gen 10 finally be the new-gen Pokémon games we’ve been dreaming of?

Infamous Pokemon leaker Centro LEAKS has shared what they believe to be almost the entire open-world on X.

While some of the locations don’t make a lot of sense the rest feel pretty self-explanatory.

The leaker claims that the game will be separated into islands, with apparently 18 in total and vast oceans lying between them.

The oceans themselves count as explorable areas too and there’s apparently eight in total, Pokemon Sun and Moon style.

What Other Pokemon Leaks Were Reported?

Each island will have a variety of landmarks, and many of them will be home to a Pokémon Gym. My question is whether we’ll have free-roam over which gyms to go to first though, and whether the game will be balanced to support those decisions.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet let you choose which gyms you wanted to go to first, but they still had fixed levels so it didn’t really make sense to not just do them in order like you usually would.

If Pokémon Wind & Waves does let you plot your own course that’d be excellent, but only if the game balances itself around your choices.

Looking at the list my other concern is traversal, and whether it’ll actually be fun to travel between these islands.

We’ve done it before in previous games but in small stretches but never on this supposed scale.

I’m expecting Game Freak to take a page out of Nintendo’s book on this one and give us a cool boat like the King of Red Lions in The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Perhaps a boat legendary to go along with my motorbike dragons?

There will of course need to be a fast-travel option like in previous games too, as I’m not sailing seven seas just to get a specific Fairy Pokémon from the only island that has them…

I probably sound overly negative but rest-assured I am excited.

Running on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware I’m expecting to finally have a Pokémon open-world that’s a joy to explore and I’m looking forward to our first-look at the game, possibly via the rumoured Pokémon Presents in February.
