Red Dead Redemption 2 players achieve something that we’ve all dreamed of, and that’s killing the dastardly Micah Bell without the need for any mods whatsoever.

Rockstar Games’ 2018 critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered to be one of the best games of all time, as suggested by its mightily impressive Metacritic score of 97, earning the “Must-Play” accolade.

“Red Dead Redemption 2 is the epic tale of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the infamous Van der Linde gang, on the run across America at the dawn of the modern age,” reads the synopsis from Rockstar Games.

From its compelling storytelling, interesting NPCs, engaging side-activities and immersive open world, there’s a lot to love about Red Dead Redemption 2. However, as much as we love this classic title, there’s also something we hate or better yet, someone we love to hate, and that’s Micah Bell.

To put it mildly, almost from the get-go, players learn that there’s something off about Micah and as the story of Red Dead Redemption 2 progresses, I can hand on heart say that there’s never been a video game character that I’ve wanted to kill more than he. Well, apart from David from The Last of Us Part I.

Throughout the story, I was itching for my opportunity to trigger the Dead Eye gameplay mechanic on Micah but apparently, the opportunity to kill this hated character can be achieved early in the game.

“I killed Micah as Arthur in Chapter 2,” announced Redditor Winter_Combination12. So the question is, how was the great act achieved?

“After the ‘An American Pastoral Scene’ mission, I was riding my horse with John guiding the sheep,” Winter_Combination12 explained. “Micah randomly spawned and ran to the river where the stagecoach blew up. I trampled him with my horse and threw fire bottles with some dynamite.”

That being said, this is a random event that is not meant to be encountered, if anything, it can be considered a glitch. Some Reddit users reported that Micah will continually respawn during this mission if you manage to kill him following a patch from Rockstar Games.

Thankfully, another Reddit user explained an alternative way that we can enjoy the demise of Micah.

Geehaw explained during the mission when you have to break Micah from jail (also Chapter 2) at the Strawberry Settlement, if you anger some of its residents, this mission may temporarily become unavailable to complete.

If this happens, go to the Sheriff’s office, walk downstairs to Micah’s cell and shoot a fire arrow at his feet. This will kill Micah, at least for now.

Micah will eventually respawn in order for you to complete the mission and the game but as Geehaw puts it, at least you get “the satisfaction of killing Micah without failing a mission.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
