The Witcher 3 fan discovers an entirely new map to explore, no mods needed

Despite it being almost nine years since it was first released, one curious The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt player has discovered an entirely new area to explore without the use of mods.

It is no secret that the award-winning The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the best gaming experiences of all time. Developed by CD Projekt Red and a sequel to 2011’s The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, The Witcher 3 went on to win Game of the Year in 2015 and it still remains equally as loved today.

Check out The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt trailer below!

Despite us quickly approaching the title’s 10-year anniversary, it has not stopped players from discovering all of the secrets the RPG has to hide, which recently included a brand-new unearthed area.

Spotted by one Reddit user on r/Witcher3, a hidden area can be accessed by Ciri during the quest “Ciri’s Story: Out of The Shadows” which takes place in the second half of the game. During this quest, our female Witcher is able to climb over the tower and roam to her heart’s content without affecting any progress. As a result, you can find yourself stumbling across a brand new area called Gaunter O’Dimm.

Gaunter O’Dimm is found outside of the Velen border and you know you have found the right place when the “sky turns red and trees turn black” according to the Reddit user. Hidden east of the Nilfgaardian camp, the area is free to explore once you have bypassed the invisible wall but unfortunately is not home to any loot or collectibles.

According to the post’s comments, this area has remained fairly hidden throughout the game’s nine-year lifespan so we can only imagine how many players have booted The Witcher 3 up again.

In related news, many fans still agree that the game’s Bloody Baron quest remains unmatched and I would have to agree.
