PlayStation Plus announces drop of $120 worth of free games

PlayStation Plus' latest December free games have a total value of just under $120.

PlayStation Plus has revealed the titles included in its final essential tier free game drop of 2023. It’s a line-up that’s split fans, but I’d call it a total win.

Before we dive into what will join the service on 5 December, allow me to remind you that you have just a few more days to grab November’s offerings. Those are Mafia II: Definitive Edition, Dragon Ball: The Breakers, and Alien Fireteam Elite. Mafia II is well worth picking up, particularly if you’re a fan of Grand Theft Auto. Featuring vehicle chases, shootouts, and a police wanted system, it should feel familiar to fans of Rockstar’s iconic franchise. You can soon get your hands on a brand new line-up though which is worth $120.

Sable is one of next month’s freebies. Take a look at it in action below.

PlayStation Plus’ essential tier December drop includes LEGO 2K Drive, Sable, and Powerwash Simulator. As pointed out by Reddit user Big-Teddy, these games have a combined retail value of just under $120, $119.97 to be precise. LEGO 2K Drive is the most expensive game included this month, typically retailing for the new-gen standard of $69.99. Powerwash Simulator and Sable then both typically sell for $24.99.

This is going off RRP. You may, of course, have been able to bag these games on offer. Still, you’ll save far more money by downloading them on PlayStation Plus. I had the chance to review LEGO 2K Drive earlier this year, and it’s perfectly possible to have heaps of fun while totally ignoring the game’s pesky microtransactions.

I’m looking forward to picking up Sable, a game that’s been recommended to me on so many occasions that I’m somewhat ashamed I haven’t yet picked it up - and who doesn’t adore Powerwash Simulator? It’s one of those games that was likely on very few people’s radar and yet has turned into a zen, relaxing phenomenon. Hopefully, there’s something that appeals to you.
