PlayStation Plus' monthly lineup has become a bit of a ritual activity to look forward to. Sadly, it's not just a glut of new games arriving on the platform every 30 days or so, as others have to make way to accommodate the latest offerings.
September's departures have now been quietly confirmed and there are some annoyingly good games heading into the sunset for the foreseeable future. When exactly they will do so is yet to be confirmed, but mid-September is a good guide if you're looking to play for free before they go.
As first reported by PlayStation lifestyle the full list of games being removed from the service is as follows:
- The Plucky Squire
- UFC 5
- Road 96
- Pistol Whip
- Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir
- FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch
- Dragon’s Crown Pro
The strongest game on that list is The Plucky Squire, an ingenious little action-adventure that allows players to switch between the 2D world of the book their characters come from and a full 3D world set inside a suburban home. Though it is best known for that unique mechanic, it's a very solid game in all areas, combining excellent responsive gameplay with a fun fairy tale-esque story.

Another big miss for many will undoubtedly be UFC 5, the latest in the series of popular MMA games and a genuinely solid fighting simulator that has a huge and dedicated following of players. It's a very fun multiplayer experience as well, if that's more your thing over the deep simulation of career mode.
Rounding out the list are five further indie titles that cover plenty of ground across the genres. Happily, you still have a month, so you can get through a lot of these from start to finish before they disappear from the service altogether. The Plucky Squire will only set you back around 8 hours, according to HowLongToBeat.com, so that's a great place to start.
