PlayStation users can play a new game for free for a limited time thanks to a new offer, you don’t even need PlayStation Plus.

If the latest offering from PlayStation Plus Extra hasn’t delivered the goods you were after, fear not, as there’s currently an offer to experience the superb space exploration game, No Man’s Sky, for free for a limited time only.

Take a look at No Man’s Sky below

No Man’s Sky has made an incredible comeback over the years. It launched with minimal content, was riddled with bugs and was just not a fun game in general. Thankfully several years of post launch support have transformed the game into the ultimate space exploration game, and the support just keeps coming.

This includes new ships, crafting items, graphics and gameplay improvements, enhanced base building and much, much more.

In recent years, the game has introduced Expeditions, community-driven events that can net you some sweet rewards if you put the time into them. The latest expedition, Omega, has launched today and is apparently “tailor-made for newcomers” to the game. To celebrate this, the game is officially free-to-play on PlayStation consoles for a limited time, and should give you a taste of everything the game has to offer.

It’s not just PlayStation fans that can enjoy the fun either, as Xbox fans will also be able to play the game for free as well. No Man’s Sky is already available on Xbox Game Pass so this is great news for users who haven’t got a subscription yet but still want to try the game.

Progression in both versions will transfer to the full-game if you decide to pick up a copy for yourself.

No Man’s Sky is playable for free right now on PlayStation and Xbox platforms, and will remain free until Monday 19 February, after which it’ll return to its original price.
