Sony has revealed its latest offerings for its PlayStation Plus subscription service, and gamers are in for a treat this September.

Every month, subscribers to Sony’s PlayStation Plus service eagerly await what games they’ll be treated to next in the hope that at least one banger will be included in its ever-expanding library of goodness.

Sure, PlayStation Plus can be a bit hit and miss at times, but lately, it feels like the quality of games included in the service has vastly improved.

This month, those who subscribe to the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers were treated to the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, as well as Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, originally released on the PS1 in 1998 and 1999, respectively.

Now, the next three games have been announced by Sony, and this time it's for PlayStation Plus Essential, which is also included in the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers.

In September, PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to an action-adventure from famed studio DoubleFine, as well as a very popular indie darling and a fantastic puzzler. The three games coming to PlayStation Plus Essential next month are:

  • Psychonauts 2 (PS4): "Combining quirky missions and mysterious conspiracies, Psychonauts 2 is a platform-adventure game with cinematic style and tons of customizable psychic powers."
  • Stardew Valley (PS4): "You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home?"
  • Viewfinder (PS5/PS4): "Challenge perception, redefine reality, and reshape the world around you with an instant camera. Viewfinder is a new single-player game offering gamers hours of interesting and fun experiences while uncovering the mysteries left behind."

As per usual, the three PlayStation Plus Essential games will be available to play on the first Tuesday of every new month, which in this case is 2 September 2025.

Hopefully, at least one of the above will tickle your fancy. As always, we’ll let you know as soon as the next batch of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium titles is available in the coming weeks.
