An underrated game available right now on PlayStation Plus recently benefited with a free remaster and fans are loving it.

Towards the end of 2024, Ubisoft released a free new-gen update for 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate giving the game a long-awaited 60 frames-per-second boost, adding to the fact that it’s still a gorgeous game.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate followed in the footsteps of free Ubisoft new-gen updates alongside the likes of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Now, fans will be hoping that 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity is the next game in the series to get the modern treatment as it's 60fps on physical copies only.

However, it’s not just the Assassin’s Creed series that has been getting recent Ubisoft love with Far Cry 5 receiving a new-gen update in 2023 and now, standalone spin-off Far Cry New Dawn has had the same treatment just this week.

Best of all, if you subscribe to either Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium, you’ll be able to play Far Cry New Dawn with the free update at no extra cost.

“Dive into a transformed vibrant post-apocalyptic Hope County, Montana, 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe,” reads the synopsis of Far Cry New Dawn. “Join fellow survivors and lead the fight against the dangerous new threat the Highwaymen, and their ruthless leaders The Twins, as they seek to take over the last remaining resources.”

“I enjoyed Assassin’s Creed Syndicate with the 60fps update. I really appreciate Ubisoft rolling out these upgrades,” said Redditor brolt0001. “I’m playing through AC Origins and it looks amazing on the PS5 with 60fps.”

“About time, I was holding to play Far Cry New Dawn because there is no way I'm going to play it at 30fps,” exclaimed SuperBig_Cat.

Hopefully, Ubisoft will make its way through the entire Far Cry series with its new-gen updates. We’ll have our fingers crossed.

Far Cry New Dawn is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
