Assassin's Creed new-gen remaster officially released out of the blue

Can we have AC Unity next, please?

Ubisoft has finally released a new-gen update for one of its most criminally underrated Assassin’s Creed games out of the blue.

The Assassin’s Creed series made its debut in 2007 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Since then, Assassin’s Creed has been one of Ubisoft’s biggest properties alongside Far Cry, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and - I can’t believe I’m about to say this - but also Just Dance.

Check out the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate next-gen trailer below!

No matter the generation, Assassin’s Creed games have always stood out for their graphics.

Most importantly, the series provides players with the choice of stealth or all-out action alongside a compelling story of good vs. evil with the Brotherhood of Assassins contending with the Templars.

In 2014, with the introduction of the AnvilNext 2.0 engine, the series was taken to new heights, at least with its gorgeous visuals and the amount of NPCs that could be on the screen at a time with Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Albeit, Assassin’s Creed Unity initially launched in a buggy mess but over time, it became the title that Ubisoft and its fans hoped it to be.

A year later, with most of the kinks ironed out from its predecessor, we were treated to the brother and sister twin duo of Jacob and Evie Frye in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

Unfortunately for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, despite being a fantastic game in my opinion, it’s not the most highly-rated entry in the Ubisoft series, as reflected by its Metacritic score of 76 from critics and 6.8 from users.

Yet, despite it being underrated, there’s still a loyal section of the fanbase that loves Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and if you’re one of those, then today is your lucky day.

Ubisoft has surprised fans by dropping a free new-gen update for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X/S.

On PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, you can play Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, and that’s the same for Xbox Series X. For the Xbox Series S, it’s playable at a 1080p/60fps.

The new-gen update for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is live now and should begin to download the next time you fire up the game - unless it’s already downloaded in sleep mode.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Oh, Ubisoft, can we have a new-gen update for Assassin’s Creed Unity next, please?
