Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West fans are all on the same page when it comes to what they want from a third entry in the series.
When Guerrilla Games, the makers of the Killzone series, released Horizon Zero Dawn on the PlayStation 4 in 2020, it almost instantly became a leading property for Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Horizon Zero Dawn is set in the 31st century, roughly a thousand years after a catastrophic event nearly made all of humankind extinct on Earth. Now, mechanical beasts roam the planet, and with our race still in a fight for survival, our hopes rely on a young tribal outcast named Aloy.
Even today, Horizon Zero Dawn looks stunning when being played on the PlayStation 4, and it looks and plays even better with the PlayStation 5 remaster that arrived last year.

In our review of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, GAMINGbible’s Kate said: “You may not have thought it possible, but this version of Aloy’s world is even more beautiful, with Nixxes’ subtle attention to detail resulting in a space that feels even more immersive and brimming with life.”
Following the release of the original Horizon Zero Dawn, it then had an expansion, The Frozen Wilds, followed by its 2022 sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, which also had an expansion with Burning Shores.
We’ve even had two spin-offs in the series, the PS VR2 exclusive Call of the Mountain, and the random release of LEGO Horizon Adventures, which was not only released on PlayStation but also on the Nintendo Switch.
Oh, and there’s a live-action Horizon movie on the way, too. So, it’s fair to say that there’s plenty of Horizon goodness to keep us entertained for the foreseeable future.

However, that hasn't stopped fans speculating what they’d like to see in the yet-to-be-announced Horizon 3.
“As we can see in both The Frozen Wilds and Burning Shores DLCs, Guerrilla Games always introduces new features that are later explored more in the next game. Like, overdrawing our bows and new machines in The Frozen Wilds, a Zenith weapon in the Burning Shores,” said Redditor mikkazeri, kicking off the discussion on the thread.
“What are the expectations for Horizon’s new fight mechanics and storyline? I’m hoping more Zenith technology can be explored by Aloy, but the post-apocalyptic tribal aesthetic is so appealing to me that I am divided.”

“Some Zenith tech may be utilised, just as Hephaestus got a boost from Zenith tech and will probably use it in new machines,” explained The-Aziz. “But it will still be a bow-and-arrow game, since tribal vendors are unlikely to be able to use, or even be aware of, such technology."
“Scopes, laser sighting…. Combining modern or futuristic tech with bows would be AMAZING,” replied Starlancer199819.
“Yeah, thanks to the Zenith tech and the Apollo database, the Horizon 3 arsenal has the potential to be the fanciest yet,” exclaimed ThePreciseClimber.
“I'm definitely more in favour of Zenith upgrades for bows, spike throwers, etc,” added ThePreciseClimber. “Rather than having Aloy rock an assault rifle. But a single, special Zenith weapon like the Specter Gauntlet could be neat, too.”
