Although it has only been three years since Horizon Forbidden West was first released, fans are already eager to see the return of Aloy in a possible third entry.
Kicking off back in 2017 with Horizon Zero Dawn, the action RPG series by Guerrilla Games was an instant hit as players took on the role of a young hunter called Aloy who must learn how to survive in a world overrun by machines.
The first game was such a success that its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, followed in 2022 and with the franchise rumoured to be a trilogy, fans are eager to learn when they can expect the third and final entry.
Since the launch of Horizon Forbidden West, Guerrilla Games has released both DLC content as well as Horizon Call of the Mountain, a VR standalone but it has not yet been revealed when Horizon 3 will launch.

Last year, insider Jason Schreier claimed that Horizon 3 will arrive a lot later than expected, so much so that Guerrilla’s online multiplayer Horizon game will launch first.
According to Schreier, Horizon 3 is still “a ways off” and that fans will need to be patient.
This news is bittersweet as those excited for the multiplayer spin-off can expect to see it relatively soon but if you are just interested in the main single-player series, it seems as though Guerrilla is in no rush to see it released.
Following the news, fans took to r/HorizonForbiddenWest to share their thoughts and it seems as though they were left feeling torn.

One fan made an excellent point when they asked, “When exactly did we expect it to be out? It hasn't even been so much as teased yet.”
For user commanderr01, the wait should be worth it.
“I don’t mind waiting at all, but every time they push it back my expectations do go up a tad,” they shared.
With some claiming that it is “better later than undercooked” whilst others admit that the news is “disappointing”, it seems as though the wait for Horizon 3 will be marked with controversy.
