If you’re after a game that blends some elements from Horizon Zero Dawn and Valheim, then look no further than this free Steam download.
Originally released in 2017 on PlayStation 4 from Killzone developer Guerrilla Games, Horizon Zero Dawn quickly became one of my favourite games on the Sony console.
Speaking of Killzone, Guerrilla Games, please bring that criminally underrated first-person shooter series! Anywho, let’s get back on topic before I go into full-on rant mode.
Getting back on track, Horizon Zero Dawn would later spawn an expansion, a remaster, a sequel and a couple of spin-offs. That being said, as much as I love its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, nothing quite beats the game that started it all.

Fans are now eagerly waiting for the third Horizon game. While it’s not been announced, Horizon Forbidden West and its expansion, Burning Shores, set up the next game perfectly.
Then we have the aforementioned Valheim, one of the most popular survival RPGs of its genre, set in a Norse-inspired world that God of War fans, post-2018, would surely appreciate.
At the time of writing, Valheim is available on PC and Xbox Series X/S, but next year, it will finally arrive on PlayStation 5. Glade dager!
The game in question is called Elysium (no disco), developed and published by Artifika Games. Elysium might not be out until sometime in 2026, but you can download its free playable demo via Steam right now.
“Explore the ruins of a lost sci-fi world in this co-op open world survival adventure. Build, craft, and battle corrupted machines and mutants to reveal the truth behind the Elythians—and the force that led to their fall,” reads the synopsis of the game. “This demo takes place on the Virelia (starter island of the full game), the first of seven islands planned for the full game.”
As of right now, Elysium has a “Positive” rating on Steam from its community.
“The game already feels so alive and full of atmosphere. You can really feel the care and detail that went into creating such a world,” wrote Fersat. “Even in this early demo, there’s a strong sense of style and identity that makes it stand out. Really excited to see how the world, story, and gameplay evolve in the full release.”
“I really like the idea of taming robots. Also, the building system looks promising. There are issues, but all of them are fixable. I hope they will keep up the good work,” said BringSalavat.
“I liked the demo, and I am waiting for the full game. Some minor bugs can be fixed, but they are not so significant and they do not affect the gameplay much,” explained Donnie. “Can't wait to see the full version of Elysium.”
At this time, Elysium has not been announced for consoles.
