Grand Theft Auto fans have spotted at least one player currently playing Grand Theft Auto VI months ahead of its official launch.
GTA VI’s current release date is 19 November and it seems like there won’t be any further delays.
That said, there is a Take-Two earnings call this evening so we’ll see what we can glean from that later.
At the time of writing though we still have 10 months to get through before we can finally get our hands on the game, yet one lucky player is seemingly enjoying it before anyone else.
Advert
This can be found on GTA VI’s HowLongToBeat page, with this one player also giving the game a 73% rating, which I’m sure everyone will be very normal about.
Grand Theft Auto fans picked up on it immediately and shared it to a Reddit thread, wondering who this mystery person could be.
Personally I think it’s just a glitch in the system, but perhaps it is indeed a player.
The obvious answer would be one of the Rockstar Games devs or maybe even a representative from Take-Two Interactive.
That said you’d expect a bit more secrecy from both companies given how many leaks there have already been for GTA VI.
Gamers had a different theory though, believing it’s actually a terminally ill fan that Rockstar is letting play the game early.

Quick side-note, I think it’s really touching that Rockstar Games is letting one of its fans play the game early.
It reminds me of when Bethesda confirmed The Elder Scrolls VI will include a memorial to a fan that never got to play the game, and it’s always really lovely to see.
We don’t know for sure who this mystery player is if they’re even a player at all, but looking at that HowLongToBeat page has us longing to play the game ourselves.
What To Expect From Tonight’s Earnings Call
With the Take-Two earning call tonight it’d be easy to get our hopes up for some news on GTA VI but we’d advise you temper your expectations a bit.
While a new trailer could drop in the build-up to the call, it feels too early in the year for Rockstar to give us another look at the game.
What we are expecting is a brief update on the release date, and if the game is still on track for its current 19 November launch.
