Grand Theft Auto VI is easily one of the most highly anticipated video games of all-time.
It’s for that reason that fans have rabidly consumed any and all leaks that have come to light.
It goes without saying, however, that not every leak will prove to be accurate; for every bonafide leak, there’s a lying clout chaser.
And it’s nigh impossible to verify leaks until the game is in our hands.
Advert
Despite this, GTA VI hopefuls believe they may have done just that as a leak that originally surfaced in 2016 has so far proven to be accurate.
This was brought to light by Twitter/X account GTAVI_Countdown who wrote, “GTA VI’s first legit leak happened in 2016, when an anonymous dev accurately revealed that the game would feature a male and a female protagonist.”
It’s quite a feat to reveal said information a decade before the game’s release.
That’s far from all though, as that 2016 leak also claimed that the game would be set in Florida, and feature a male character who smuggles drugs and a female character who acts as a contact in the USA.
Jason and Lucia’s roles may have slightly shifted during development, but they still pretty much fit the bill, and GTA VI is indeed set in Vice City, a version of Miami, Florida.
Pack Your Bags, We’re Going To Cuba
It’s with all of this in mind that a key part of the leak is being revisited, namely, the mention of Cuba.
You’ve likely heard the rumour before that GTA VI may take players to Cuba. Well, people seem to think that may be true given what else of this leak has already proven true, as reported by GameRant.

I wonder if it would work similarly to Red Dead Redemption 2’s Guarma, functioning as an otherwise inaccessible area outside of the missions pertaining to it?
It goes without saying that we do still need to approach this rumour with a pinch of salt.

Rockstar Games is Gearing Up For GTA VI’s Launch
GTA VI is scheduled to release on 19 November, if it isn’t subject to any further delays. In fact, there’s a Take-Two earnings call tomorrow, so hopefully, we’ll get an update then.
We do know though that Rockstar is hiring for positions potentially pertaining to the game’s release.
As spotted by Twitter/X user videotechuk, Rockstar New York is hiring for an associate director of creator strategy, and creator relations only come into play when a game launches, so that bodes well for GTA VI.
If any developments do drop during tomorrow’s investor’s call, we’ll be sure to bring those to you.
