If you want an added dose of horror in Fallout 4, then this free mod might be your cup of tea.

It might surprise some who are unfamiliar with the Fallout series, but this beloved Bethesda RPG property has its fair share of horror moments.

Missions such as ‘Tranquility Lane’ in Fallout 3 and ‘Cleansing the Commonwealth’ in Fallout 4 have provided lasting memories (and chills) for fans of the series.

Check out the Fallout 4 trailer below!

Thanks to the ever-talented modding community, not only are new missions added to the games we love, but we can also embrace improved visuals, gameplay overhauls and even tedious bug fixes, and the Fallout series is no exception.

One such mod that might be worth your attention if you like the horror side of the game is ZP’s Vaults for Fallout 4, created by zlostnypopolnik - and best of all, it’s free to download now via NexusMods. So, what does ZP’s Vaults bring to the table, so to speak?

“The mod drastically changes the look of LEGO vaults to [make them] more horror-like which, according to some, is closer to the atmosphere of the games Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, which is what I was going for,” reads the description of the mod.

However, this mod not only changes the look of the vaults in Fallout 4 to something a bit more creepy, but it also changes the sounds of the doors and general ambience to better suit its theme.

It is advised to read all the instructions on how to successfully implement the ZP’s Vaults mod because as we all know, Bethesda games can be buggy enough even without the addition of implementing community mods. It’s also worth mentioning that this mod is a PC exclusive.

Fallout 4 is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It’s also included in Xbox Game Pass.
