Fallout 4 has a new massive overhaul, and it completely changes the entire game to make it feel like new.

Now nearly a decade old, Fallout 4 has proven itself to be the game that keeps on giving, with hundreds of mods cropping up over the years that add on to the game’s already endless amount of content.

When you have a game that is as easy to mod as this, pretty much any kind of mod can be created as long as you have the skills.

Now, a new collection of mods completely overhauls Fallout 4, bringing it in line with modern standards while also making various tweaks to fit a new style of play.

Immersive Wasteland 2 is a colossal collection of mods available over on Nexus Mods, which “greatly enhances the exploration elements, adds new locations and quests, brings you a more Immersive and more realistic survival mode experience.”

In total, there are 505 mods included in the collection, and they’re all designed to be compatible with each other. There shouldn’t be any major crashes or bugs present, though never say never. Be sure to back up your save just in case you do run into any issues.

Immersive Wasteland 2 is intended to enhance the survival aspects of Fallout 4, and includes a darker, more mature tone for the game. It adjusts combat accordingly, and it is definitely a lot more difficult than the base game.

There are new locations and quests too, so it’s actually adding new content as well in addition to making changes to the gameplay.

It’s also very lore-friendly, and doesn’t include mods that break immersion or don’t fit with the tone of the game.

Overall, fans of the original Fallout games may enjoy this collection, as it feels very oriented towards the tougher gameplay those games had.

It’s worth looking at the mod’s page on Nexus Mods for a complete breakdown of what it includes and how it changes the game. It’ll tell you about every single mod the collection includes, and how to install it too.
