I’ve just discovered what I’ll be playing this weekend.
I don’t adore the term ‘friendslop’. Admittedly, it feels a tad dismissive, signalling that perhaps a game is just cheap fodder to enjoy with friends.
I do think there’s an emerging category though where a reliance on silliness enjoyed with friends is at the heart of the core gameplay experience.
My hope is that, eventually, we’ll find a term for this genre that’s a little less offensive than friendslop so do keep that sentiment in mind when I tell you that I may have unearthed my next friendslop obsession.

We Gotta Go is an upcoming co-op horror comedy from developer FuzzyBot and publisher Mad Mushroom that looks like an absolute blast.
Available To Try For Free From Today
The animated title sees players attempt to reach the only bathroom in a haunted mansion as various monsters and nasties quite literally attempt to scare the s**t out of you.
“Scavenge for items, fend off ghosts, and fight through cursed halls together in a desperate hunt for sweet relief,” the synopsis teases.
Players will have to eat throughout the process to fuel themselves up, but it’s important you consider what may have an effect on your bowels.
Bad burritos should be feared, devs warn - but you can handily fart to relieve pressure, if you’re certain that’s all that’s on the way.

We Gotta Go allows you to wield a variety of mundane objects that you can use to break open doors and bat monsters away.
You’ll also need to solve some environmental puzzles from time to time.

If you enjoy customisation, We Gotta Go also features various outfits and accessories which you’ll seemingly scavenge from corpses … okay.
The mansion is procedurally generated, which makes for a fresh experience every time you embark on a new toilet run in We Gotta Go.
I can just imagine this being hilarious with pals.
We Gotta Go lacks a full release date at the time of writing, but a free demo has launched on PC storefront Steam today offering a taste - or whiff - of the action.
There’s no word yet on how long the demo lasts as it’s very freshly launched, but it’s one that I’ll be giving a whirl this weekend.
If you like Peak or R.E.P.O, We Gotta Go appears to have that same appeal.
As such, I can’t imagine the game will be too highly priced when it does eventually launch, but you may as well sample the free demo while you have the chance.
