PC gamers can now pick up a brand new open world RPG, completely free to play and perfect for anime fans.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin was announced last year and set to hit PC in January. After a short delay, the game is now available to play for PC gamers via Steam.
The gacha game is based on the popular manga series by Nakaba Suzuki, which ran between 2012–2020, and sold 55 million copies and was adapted into a popular anime.
As the name implies, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is set between the conclusion of the manga but before its sequel series, Four Knights of the Apocalypse.

You play as Prince Tristan of the Kingdom of Liones, who sets out on a journey to restore order to Britannia, which has now been thrown into chaos following a mysterious collision of time and space.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Will Allow You To Explore The Kingdom Of Brittania
As the blurb on the game reads, the game allows you to “explore a dynamic, open-world Britannia teeming with secrets, formidable monsters, and breathtaking landscapes,” where you can “assemble a team of heroes with a wide array of abilities to explore Britannia together.”

These heroes include many other characters from the manga, like Meliodas, Elizabeth, Hawk, and Diane. However, there are also a bunch of new characters that are appearing in the game for the first time.
Outside of the game’s combat and RPG systems, you can also enjoy the quieter moments with your party and allies, doing activities like going fishing, cooking meals, or exploring new areas. Generally, the best parts of RPGs tend to be those tender moments.
Exploring the world will allow you to “discover hidden dungeons, unearth rare treasures, and immerse yourself in a multiverse adventure unlike any other.”
As a gacha game, it’s obviously going to have some appeal to those who enjoy those types of games over others who know it isn’t for them.
Frankly, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin isn’t doing much differently from other gacha games of the same type, like Genshin Impact or Zenless Zone Zero, but the IP is fresh and it might have some lasting power within the genre. We’ll see.
It’s currently got mixed reviews on Steam, but the full release on PC and PS5 will come next week on 23 March, so it’ll have a better chance of capturing its audience as time goes on.
