Uh oh, there goes my free time.
Do you enjoy Balatro? How about Slay The Spire?
If you’re a fan of the deck-building roguelike genre then you’re going to want to keep Master of Piece on your radar.

This one is from developer I M GAME and while the full game isn’t set to launch until sometime later this year, you can now sample its free demo over on PC storefront Steam.
“Master of Piece is a deck-building roguelike game. Recruit mercenaries and engage in strategic battles using their unique traits. Move forward to uncover the secrets of the Dragon Orb and the Black Mist and complete the deck with powerful synergies,” the synopsis reads.
It’s perhaps better that I let the game’s trailer do some of the talking.
Inspired by board games, devs refer to Master of Piece’s gameplay as “deeply stargeic”.

You’ll want to “optimise your strategies, deploy your mercenaries, and fight the battles to achieve victory,” all whilst strengthening and combining your mercenaries’ unique traits to create powerful synergies.
Players will deploy one mercenary unit per round, with mercenaries acting in order based on their speed once combat begins.
If you’re new to the genre, don’t let any of this phase you.
Master of Piece uses “simple controls and a straightforward system” so that “anyone can easily fathom the basic mechanics of the game”.

In the final full release, there are set to be over 140 mercenaries and traits, 80 relics and over 400 card events to experience.
For now though, you can hop into the demo which just offers a slice of what's on offer.
In the demo, you’ll work through the game’s first region, Hill of Sunshine, where “cultists whisper of a dragon’s rebirth and danger lurks around every corner”.
“To ensure you experience the full potential of our game, we’ve carefully selected a roster of mercenaries designed to offer maximum entertainment. Every decision, every roll of the dice, and every battle will pull you deeper into the strategic and immersive experience we’ve crafted,” the devs added.

Of course, we’ll be keeping an eye on updates on the games release but for now, why not hop into that demo?
