Baldur's Gate 3 player murders every NPC just to see what happens

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player has gone full psychopath and killed all the NPCs in Act One, and stored their remains in one of the game’s houses.

Since its release, Baldur’s Gate 3 has blown players away with how much you can do in the game. Climbing its way to the top of Metacritic’s best-rated games of 2023 list, the RPG continues to see success and has quickly become a contender for Game Of The Year.

Check out Baldur's Gate 3 below.

While the game’s content and regular updates have greatly contributed to the its popularity, a large part of its success is owed to the wonderfully bizarre players who’ve been giving the game publicity with their antics. So far, we’ve had one player beating the 200-hour game in a measly 10 minutes, players engaging in “sex speedruns” and now, homicidal killing sprees that’d make the most depraved serial killers recoil in fear.

Reddit user caufenkamp recently shared the beginnings of a harrowing quest, killing every NPC in the game, which is actually tied to a game mechanic called Dark Urges. When creating your character for the first time, you can select the Dark Urges origin, which will generate several disturbing options to pick during your playthrough. In short, it lets your character’s intrusive thoughts win.

Caufenkamp seemingly had a lot of intrusive thoughts, as they shared a post saying: “Act One complete. Kills thus far,” along with a frankly terrifying image of an entire house filled with the bodies of fallen NPCs. Doesn’t seem like they plan on stopping with Act One either if that “thus far” bit is anything to go off.

Other players were unsurprisingly disturbed, and actually quite impressed, at the dedication needed to not only kill all the NPCs, but carry and store all the bodies in one location. “Some people choose to play the urge, this guy IS the urge," read one comment. “Did you ... carry every body ... to one ... house? Some of those bodies are miles away,” said another concerned fan.

Safe to say, we’ll be watching caufenkamp’s adventure with great interest, though there are a lot of NPCs in Baldur’s Gate 3, so surely he’s going to run out of places to put them at some point?
