Baldur’s Gate 3’s developer and publisher Larian Studios may have just accidentally leaked their next upcoming game, thanks to a tiny little mistake on one of their social accounts.

Expectations are high for Larian Studios at the moment. All eyes have been on the studio following the resounding success of Baldur’s Gate 3, which has been touted by many to be one of the best games ever made.

So, where does a developer even go from there? How do you follow up on what many believe to be perfection?

Well, I guess it would make sense for them to just revisit their old faithful… the Divinity series.

Earlier this week, Larian Studios’ official Twitter account switched its handle from @larianstudios to @divinity. The change was brief, but not brief enough.

As The Gamer’s Joshua Robertson notes in their article, everyone noticed the change immediately– even though Larian Studios changed it back in a matter of minutes.

Does this mean that Larian’s next game will be a follow-up to the absolutely incredible Divinity: Original Sin II? Or perhaps even just a brand new entry in the Divinity series?

Probably not, at least if Larian Studios’ director Michael Douse is to be believed.

“Unfortunately (depending on your perspective) this is just part of the process to take stock of what we own, and what we have and haven't claimed when it comes to our IPs,” Douse revealed in a post on Twitter.

“Turns out it's a good idea to own the @'s relating to IPs that are yours. For example, to prevent people scamming off the back of your brand, etc. Twitter are transferring a bunch to us, but inexplicably swapped out this one for the Larian account.”

At least, that’s what they want you to think. I see through you, Douse. This is just a ruse to make us think you’re not secretly working on a new Divinity game.

Ok but jokes aside, please make Divinity: Original Sin III. I mean it doesn’t have to be your next game but… eventually? Pretty please?
