In a surprise twist, Nintendo has announced a new presentation set for tomorrow, and it’ll detail some new Pokémon gameplay.
We’re a few days out from the Pokémon 30th anniversary, and we’ve already been treated to a few surprises set for the big day, with more information set for 14:00 UTC 27 February (this Friday).
In addition to the re-releases of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen on Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Pokopia is also releasing next week and is shaping up to be an excellent mix of Animal Crossing and Dragon Quest Builders.
In case you were hungry for some more Pokémon Pokopia gameplay, Nintendo has now announced that you’ll be able to do so during a special Nintendo Treehouse presentation airing tomorrow, 24 February.
Advert
The presentation will feature brand new gameplay from Pokémon Pokopia ahead of its release date on 5 March. It’ll also feature an overview of the upcoming Super Mario Bros Wonder Switch 2 upgrade, plus its expansion “Meetup in Bellabel Park”.
The Nintendo Treehouse presentation will air on 24 February at 10PM GMT. That’s 2PM PT, or 5PM ET. It'll last for around 80 minutes, split across both titles.
The stream will be available using the embedded link I've included below. Make sure you ring that bell to get notified when it goes live!
Pokémon Pokopia Is Releasing In March, Perfect For Stardew Valley And Animal Crossing Players
If you’re unaware what Pokémon Pokopia is, it’s an upcoming life simulation game in the same vein as Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing.
It was announced during last September’s Nintendo Direct, but we were given a better look at it earlier this year.
In it, you play as a Ditto who shapes an empty land into a beautiful home for a variety of different Pokémon.
Over time, you’ll transform the land into a paradise for these creatures, with activities ranging from collecting berries and chopping wood, to crafting furniture and building homes for Pokémon you meet.
As you befriend Pokémon, they’ll teach you new moves which you can use to interact with the environment, creating a fun relationship-led dynamic to your progression. As you grow your settlement, more Pokémon will be attracted to come visit.
When GAMINGbible’s own Kate Harrold previewed the game, she said it was “the franchise’s best entry in years”, and this new look at the game tomorrow could confirm this for many fans.
Pokémon Pokopia will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on 5 March, 2026. Will you be playing?
