Nintendo has announced a new Partner Showcase for tomorrow, 5 February, and Elden Ring news is very likely.
Elden Ring was supposed to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 last year under the title Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.
It would have included the base game plus the DLC expansion Shadow of the Erdtree, in addition to new weapons and armour that couldn’t be found in the original version.
The port was unfortunately delayed to 2026 which was bad news at the time but good news now, as we’re probably months away from finally getting it.
Advert
Given Nintendo’s Partner Showcases are all about third-party titles coming to its consoles it feels almost guaranteed that we’ll get an update on Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, hell it might even be shadowdropped.
Perhaps that’s wishful thinking but stranger things have happened, and we’re sure both Nintendo and Bandai Namco know how badly we want this port of the game.
Where To Tune Into The Partner Showcase
As usual Nintendo will be airing the broadcast through its own channels, with the best place to watch being YouTube.
If you’re not able to watch the full showcase though, Nintendo's X account usually posts about each announcement as it happens, and I’d imagine the Nintendo Today app will also be chiming away with all the new bits and bobs too.

What Else We’re Expecting To See
We’re not expecting hours and hours of new announcements from this Direct but we are expecting some updates on existing projects.

Professor Layton and The New World of Steam could do with a release update, as does Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. Last year’s Game of the Year winner Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is also due a port for the Nintendo Switch 2 so we might see that pop up as well.
The big one for me though is another FromSoftware title, The Duskbloods, which drew a lot of attention upon its announcement for looking eerily similar to Bloodborne.
It’s a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive and like Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition it’s also due for release sometime this year, so it’d make sense to see it during tomorrow’s showcase.
I adore pretty much anything FromSoftware puts out but I must say I’m very sceptical of this one especially with it being a PvPvE-style game. It's a big deviation from FromSoftware’s usual formula though perhaps that’ll work to the game’s advantage.
