Surprise Elden Ring Release Revealed, Drops Way Sooner Than Expected

We’re going back to the Lands Between!

Elden Ring fans will be getting a surprise new release coming this year. Tainted, rejoice!

When it comes to crafting immersive, stunning, yet brutal RPG worlds, it doesn't get much better than what’s delivered by famed Japanese developer, FromSoftware.

FromSoftware has provided some of our best gaming experiences, some of which extend beyond our PC and consoles. Dark Souls, Bloodborne and more recently, Elden Ring have been adapted into tabletop board games.

I’ve played the Bloodborne board game, and let me tell you, it’s every bit as brutal as its video game counterpart. Resources are few and far between, trekking across the Yarham maps is full of monsters that will slay you if you’re not careful, and that’s not taking into account menacing boss encounters.

Another Elden Ring Tabletop Experience Is on the Way!

As brought to our attention by IGN (via Polygon), the new Elden Ring tabletop board game in question is inspired by the 2025 multiplayer spin-off, Elden Ring: Nightreign. There is already one Elden Ring board game, released in 2025 by Steamforged Games.

“It’s not perfect, and it nowhere near has the level of polish that Elden Ring did, but you can tell it’s not really trying to be what that game was,” said GAMINGbible’s Sam in his Elden Ring: Nightreign review. “It’s a different animal entirely, and I can admire FromSoftware for trying something new while still holding onto what’s worked for it in the past.”

Sadly, details about the Elden Ring: Nightreign board game are pretty much nonexistent at this time, regarding its mechanics, how many missions it might have, whether or not it will have miniatures, and so forth.

All we know so far is that it’s planned to be released in spring this year.

It’s also created by Japanese board game developer, Group SNE, which has previously adapted a Dark Souls tabletop experience (not to be confused with the version created by Steamforged Games).

That being said, given the fact that it is currently scheduled to be released sometime during spring this year.

Hopefully, we won't be waiting too long for additional details. As always, we’ll keep you updated when we learn more.

However, it might be worth keeping in mind that, due to it being a game developed in Japan, we might be waiting a bit longer for it to be released in the West, with the likelihood of it being localised for other regions.
