Pokémon Legends: Z-A has just received an update that fixes one of the DLC's most frustrating features.

Nintendo’s Pokémon series is one of the biggest properties in all of entertainment. From its video games on the original Game Boy handheld consoles, animated series on a Saturday morning, to collecting trading cards and battling with friends. The world of Pokémon has kept us entertained in so many fun ways, but sometimes, these games just irritate me.

Perhaps no game has bugged me more so than Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which was released last year on the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2. Fortunately, this latest update has fixed some quality of life issues I had major issues with that might bring me back to Lumiose City for a second go.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Was Released in 2025

“Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a fantastic Pokémon game,” said GAMINGbible’s Sam in his review. In December 2025, not long after the launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, we were treated to its first DLC, Mega Dimension. This DLC unlocked new story content, as well as some snazzy cosmetic items.

“Mysterious distortions have appeared without warning in Lumiose City. They seem to connect to a place known as Hyperspace Lumiose...and the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa has the power to transform them into portals so you can travel there!” reads the synopsis of Mega Dimension.

As fun as this DLC is, it had some issues, some of which felt very unnecessary. Thankfully, some of those issues have now been fixed in update Version 2.0.1, for Pokémon Legends Z-A and its DLC, Mega Dimension.

What Has Been Fixed in the Mega Dimension DLC?

Mega Dimension owners rejoice - you can now buy berries at the clerk at Nouveau Café’s Truck No. 3, instead of having to farm repetitive wormhole missions.

You can now purchase multiple Berries at once from a food stall. Why on earth this wasn't possible to begin with, I’ll never know.

The maximum number of Mega Shards that you can carry has also been increased from 999 to 9,999. Did you know that you stop collecting Mega Shards to buy Mega Stones with after you're holding 999? Because I did not know that, and that was not clear until I'd spent the whole game collecting them. I was so mad at this, I stopped playing, so it's great to know there's a fix now.

Sure, this wasn't game-breaking, but it was still annoying.

These may be small changes, but sometimes I feel that even the smallest of improvements can improve how a player experiences a game much more enjoyable.

Other Changes Made In January 21 Pokémon Legends Z-A Update

When using moves in certain pockets of hyperspace, Pokémon sometimes faced a different direction from the intended target. I never experienced this - next we need a fix for Pokémon getting stuck behind terrain and getting confused!

There were cases in which the weather remained sunny and did not change.

Shiny Pokémon obtained prior to the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Mega Dimension may not have been registered to the Mega Evolution Pokédex, even if their Mega Stones were obtained after becoming available in the DLC.

During missions, images from unrelated scenes may occasionally have been displayed.

Players may not have been able to complete side mission 188 “Start Special Scanning!” even after earning the maximum number of survey points. Players who are already experiencing this issue should be able to progress after entering and exiting hyperspace.

Remember - you'll need to download this update in order to use the game’s Internet features.
