After a rocky launch, CD Projekt Red’s open-world RPG has climbed its way back to the top, and will conclude its journey with two massive updates, the first being Update 2.0, which introduces several highly-requested features and reworks, as well as the aforementioned expansion.

Phantom Liberty will take players to a new location, Dog Town, where V and the legendary Johnny Silverhand will become tangled in a spy-thriller, meeting Solomon Reed, played by none other than Idris Elba.

Solomon Reed is a spy who’ll reportedly be an important ally and potential mentor for V, though fans hoping their relationship will blossom into something more… romantic, will unfortunately be left disappointed.

Idris Elba recently took part in a video with IGN, where he reacted to fan comments about the Phantom Liberty expansion, which eventually led to a comment about whether or not his character can be romanced.

The comment was posted by vivek6135 on YouTube, and said: “IF IDRIS ELBA ISN’T A ROMANCE IMMA—”

Elba responded quickly, simply saying “I’m not a romance option”, while laughing off the remark as if he hadn’t just crushed the dreams of thousands of thirsty players who were hoping they could bang Solomon Reed.

Romance options aside, Phantom Liberty is shaping up to be a wonderful send-off to a game that started its life amidst an avalanche of hate and controversy.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be released on 26 September for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
