It’s the news we’ve been waiting for. Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming Update 2.0 is coming next week - and it’s set to be an absolute whopper.

CD Projekt RED did tease that Update 2.0 would release ahead of Phantom Liberty. In case you missed it, it was previously announced that many of the new gameplay mechanics and quality of life updates introduced in Phantom Liberty would also be coming to the base Cyberpunk 2077 game in the free Update 2.0. Well, the release of Phantom Liberty is right around the corner, on the 26 September to be exact, so the announcement of an Update 2.0 release date was only a matter of time. Putting us out of our misery, CD Projekt RED devs have revealed that the update is coming in exactly one week on 21 September.

Take a look at Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty below, including some of the upcoming base game changes.

That’s right, you don’t have long to wait. The hefty Update 2.0 will be released one week today, on Thursday 21 September. The update is set to include redesigned cyberware, redesigned perks, new relic skill tree, revamped police, new vehicles, new vehicular combat, mounted weaponry, an increased level cap, and ‘endless dynamic events’.

These updates were revealed back at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, with devs also teasing revamped and upgraded combat mechanics. For example, you can now deflect bullets with your katana, or use your foot to kick and yeet your enemies to infinity and beyond. Well, maybe not quite that far but still, you can kick.

There’s clearly plenty to keep players busy. Of course, if you end up nabbing Phantom Liberty on 26 September, you’ll also benefit from a brand new district, quest line, and plenty of new side quests too. All in all, we’re having a good time.
