Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel is officially in pre-production at CD Projekt RED. While that’s exciting, it’s pretty clear it’s not coming out anytime soon which means there’s a lot of time for speculation on what it’ll be about, where it’ll be set, and which celebrity will star in it this time.
CD Projekt RED has understandably said very little about the next game, partly because it’s still early-days but also because the last time it promised big things for its next game, it didn’t turn out very well.
That hasn’t stopped fans from clinging to whatever news they come across though, like a post from Cyberpunk 2077 director Pawel Sasko who said on Instagram several weeks ago that he’s “beyond excited that Cyberpunk 2 has entered pre-production”.
Accompanying the post was an image depicting some logos from the Cyberpunk world, which some fans are speculating to mean that “the next game will focus on Biotechnica and Kiroshi”.

Fans discussed the potential plot points for the next game in a Reddit thread, with one saying they’d be “immensely disappointed if Biotechnica was not greatly expanded upon in the next game”.
Another said, “Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to speculate, a lot of companies are known for hiding teasers in plain sight.”
Others weren’t so easily convinced though, like one fan who added, “Ngl, it focusing on Kiroshi sounds lame af, imagine if the world's biggest producer of glasses went evil and made everyone see blurry.”
There are so many possibilities to consider but we’re not going to get official answers anytime soon.

CD Projekt RED is yet to release The Witcher IV, so when that game is out in the wild, full production on the next Cyberpunk game will likely begin, and with no release date for the next Witcher game at the time of writing, who knows when that might be.
