Photorealistic bodycam FPS Unrecord is blowing gamers away with its graphics

A police bodycam footage FPS is unsettling gamers with its eerily photorealistic graphics.

This is certainly a game that’s going to cause a stir. A new photorealistic bodycam FPS has been unveiled and it’s blowing gamers away with its graphics - but its realism is also rather unsettling.

The FPS, titled Unrecord, was initially announced last year but we’ve now got our first look at some gameplay footage. Created by indie developer Alexandre Spindler, the bodycam-style tactical shooter features “complex dialogues, innovative gameplay mechanics, tough moral dilemmas, and a unique shooting system”. It’s definitely unique. After just 17 hours, the footage has been viewed a whopping 186,000 times.

Take a look at the brand new gameplay footage for Unrecord below.

As reported by PC Gamer, Unrecord actually plans to place a major emphasis on storytelling. The official description reads, “The player will have to investigate several criminal cases and confront a diverse cast of characters. The game's plot and presentation will be central to the gameplay experience, and players can anticipate a range of gameplay sequences as well as numerous plot twists."

Clearly this game isn’t going to be for everyone. The main character is a police officer, and seeing as police brutality has been such a prevalent issue in recent years, some will likely view Unrecord as distasteful. On the whole, most people are simply taken aback by the graphics. Twitter user locust9 wrote, “Very cool, but deeply uncomfortable setting and vibe,” while DeenoBean added, “For a moment there, I was really questioning if this was a game.”

TheKingsy said, “The tactical/detective angle intrigues me and the gameplay has me holding my breath. Suspenseful and intense. I’m very interested to see how Unrecord turns out.” The game doesn’t currently have a release date but you can now go ahead and wishlist it on Steam ahead of launch.
