A new shooter inspired by the likes of John Wick and Max Payne is making the rounds on Steam, and it’s already 40% off just one week after launch.
Godmode Interactive’s Suit for Hire is a shooter game that can be played as either a third-person or a top-down shooter, with the ability to switch between both modes on the fly.
In it, you play as a skilled assassin who has been tasked with taking on dangerous contracts in a variety of different locations, many of them inspired by set pieces from famous action movies.

It combines strategic shooting with martial arts melee gameplay, with a focus on dispatching your enemies as quickly as possible without getting killed. You have a limited supply of ammo and resources, meaning you need to use your wits and the environment to survive.
Both gameplay modes offer a different style of play, too. Playing it top-down might appeal more to fans of Hotline Miami or The Hong Kong Massacre, while third-person action gives the game a more Max Payne feel.
Suit for Hire was originally released on Steam Early Access back in August 2021, but the game has seen a large increase in players since releasing into 1.0 last week.
It also has a 91% positive review score according to the Steam store page, with many saying it's the closest to a real John Wick shooter game we'll probably ever get.

Although it was available in early access for years, I first came across Suit for Hire a few days ago when I saw some gameplay posted on YouTube.
I’ll leave a trailer by the developer linked below, as it's a great demonstration of how the game feels.

Suit for Hire is currently available for 40% off as an introductory offer, bringing the price down to £7.67. That’s cheaper than going out for lunch where I live, so it seems like a steal at that price.
As for what the future holds for Suit for Hire, developer Godmode Interactive says there are plans for further patches to fix bugs and improve quality-of-life improvements.
However, it believes the 1.0 release is feature complete, and there won’t be any new content released for the game. I imagine the developer is already thinking about finishing its next game, Ronin 2072.
If it’s half as good as what it managed to pull off with Suit for Hire, I think it’ll be a good one to watch out for.
